Any material man is vitally concerned with various portions of his anatomy; the loss of any of its members is a tragedy or dire catastrophe. The man philosophically inclined is not so concerned but knows he can live without fingers or toes or even arms or legs; yes, he knows he can live – even after death.
Yes, the people of the Holy Land who saw the man, Jesus, saw only one small nether part of a great spiritual anatomy, the more highly developed Superconscious Self of a Spiritual entity which was functioning creatively in many directions simultaneously. It (the Superconscious Self), was not personally conscious of, but was philosophically aware of the embodiment of Jesus and related, or expressed itself, through Him only in propitious moments, wherein the Self of Jesus became more directly related to this Higher Self. Under these more favorable conditions, the Higher Self then functioned and the miracles were performed. However, it must be remembered that this Higher Self always functioned with logic and reason far above the level commonly ascribed to lower physical man and therefore was not affected by the emotional content of reactionary experiences.
This Higher Self could then concern Itself through Jesus with various expressions as miracles or personal realizations, vindications of understanding of higher principles to those few thousands who had, at that time, so preconditioned themselves, prepared for, and had met the necessary requirements in the Spiritual worlds and in the earth life, realizations were thus enabled through Jesus to turn their face toward this Higher Spiritual entity and in the directive flow of constructive energies, receive their personal miracle or realization.
This Higher Self could then concern Itself, through Jesus, with various expressions as miracles or personal realizations – vindications of understanding of higher principles to those few thousands who had at that time so preconditioned themselves, had prepared for, and had met the necessary requirements in the spiritual worlds and, in the earth life realizations, were thus enabled through Jesus to turn their faces toward this Higher Spiritual entity and, in the directive flow of constructive energies, receive their personal miracle of realization.
This Higher Self knew and realized much more so than did the man Jesus, of demonstrating in a time, or a material world environment; that inversely, the greater the positive polarity of time, the greater the negative polarity which would tend to equalize or neutralize such great spiritual expurgations and which would completely deviate any individual from his natural evolutionary pathway. For the Higher Self knew that this negative polarity so expressed, has powerful and dominant subastral agencies and would seize this participle of expressed Truth and from it reconstruct their own pagan dispensations so that it would be torn apart and dismembered and its various parts would be tossed to the members of the hierarchies in the various factional religions; and there, like grizzly trophies from some great war, would be hung upon their cross for the masses to kneel before and pay humble homage – to lay upon the altar the supreme sacrifice, their God-given birthright of the personal relative expression to the Infinite; and for a time, being like moles burrowing beneath the ground, their purpose would be waylaid by these floods of religious negation; yet, find the Light they must; their blind and almost unopened eyes longed for the Light; their bodies longed for the warmth of new understanding.
And so, as of today, the bells of many Christian lands peal forth a complex sound and, like the links in a chain, each one forged in the manner of its own destiny; so do these sounds, like chains, bind the multitudes who hear them. Yes, bound indeed they are – not to the present but to the past; for these sounds of bells are stronger indeed than any chains forged from steel and their clanking is reminiscent of the dungeons wherein countless thousands died for the Christ and with a prayer to Christ on their lips; theirs a meaningless death shared only with a meaningless purpose. Yes, as of today, though the dungeons are gone, all men are no less confined, for in believing what they hear is the true promise of the future, they have condemned themselves and, for a time at least, their death warrants must be executed.
For no man hears the true sounding bell until that day and time when from somewhere deep within himself he hears the clarion call of the Infinite and, upon the first steps of logic and reason, he will begin the long-drawn-out process of spiritual emancipation from the dross, mud, slime and ooze of the material world from whence he sprang. For even as he so began, he was a part of the whole, and in living and realizing the wholeness of all things, lived many strange ways, fought many battles and died in devious manners, always to be born again from the shambles and wreckage of his past; and from this past, pick up his new armor and sword and fight his way again to a vainglorious end.
Now, poised for the first time upon the steps of reason and logic, he can turn and look back into the past; nor will he be turned to a pillar of salt for so looking, for his footing is firm and he falls not nor can the black past reach out with tentacled hands to grasp and hold him for he is shielded with a new armor – not made with the fabrications of his past – but with a garment woven with the strands of Truth, Light, and luminous in its virtues, transforming him from a mundane materialistic creature into an ethereal entity; yet no will-o’-the-wisp but strong and powerful in the virtue of knowledge; with a new sword, shield and buckler made from the elements of wisdom and purpose. And in the purpose of all things, he will wage a new war – not one like any of the past but a war against the minions of the underworld, the swarming, vampire-like bats of hatred, greed and malice, the vultures of hypocrisy, the wolves of intolerance and the dragons of selfishness – all will fall beneath his flaming sword.
Such is the way of life, that through the very nature of vileness and evil, man is forced to seek good and always does he find this good, even in the very bowels of inequity.
Yes, indeed, the life of Jesus presented a good many strange and inexplicable contrasts: One moment the Superman who healed lepers or raised the dead. Was this the same man who knelt in tearful supplication in the last hours in Gethsemane? Yes, even in crying out in agony upon the cross, was this the same man of whom the shortest verse was written in the testaments and was so quoted in two words, “Jesus wept.” (Book of John). A strange contrast of weak emotional human or a towering pillar of spiritual Light and power, all fully justified and understandable when the hidden principle is revealed.
For this, our earth, is a primitive world where life lives to kill or to be killed; to survive by the fang and claw or so live to die by them and, as each man is born and in thus being born, like all earth things is condemned to death. All things begin to decay even as they begin to grow and the Higher Beings of which Jesus was one, in knowing of these things – how brave these Souls are to venture into these astral worlds – for such they are; yet even in their venture they are not unwise but do so in a manner and way which is acceptable to the world and which supports the reason for the venture.
And so the effigy is created; perhaps an ordinary man born of the womb and swaddled in the clothes of the nursery yet lives to be visited by the Higher Self. And while these visitations are always accompanied by symbolical manifestations, there is the time in between when the body must live as the earth man does and in this living finds the earth as others do, always awaiting the transcendent moment when the Visitor arrives.
So look not upon the man Jesus as your Savior but live only for the things which saved Him also. Understand the Jesus as He is and was two thousand years ago – a Super Being who found part of His continuity in Divine expression through the body of an earth man.
Understand immaculate conception for what it really is: impregnation of consciousness from the Infinite Mind through the polarization of self in conscious living. To live in the future world means complete transformation of self with the Divine Alchemy of the Infinite Mind. It means subtraction of the old material elements which were once necessary in the earthly life and, in knowing of these and many other things and in their practice and usage, you, too, may become a Super Being to find one common form of expression in some material world as an earthman – but with Infinite purpose and realization; and in that day you will have found your new Christmas – the rightful birthplace of your own personal Savior.
